Charity Initiatives

romaroomscolosseum operates with a strong social conscience having supported many Australian charities and schools as well as projects in India.

“It’s all about being able to help people. In all senses - the charity work, the schools, the sinking boars, the orphanages but also personally too. Being able to help employees and people who work in the factories brings me great joy, it’s just so important to me and my business. It’s amazing the things you can do, it doesn’t take a lot to be able to help somebody.”

"I feel like fashion has such huge potential to bring people together and make positive change in the world, so I wanted to use our social networks, blog and weekly email newsletters to really connect communities and give people the chance to see the world through other’s eyes. Sometimes you can listen to a person's story, and their experiences and ideas can touch you in a way that changes your perspective, influencing how you live your life. I want romaroomscolosseum to be a place where a wide diversity of stories are told – the clothes are really just a fantastic way to engage people.” ~ Dui

Over the last two decades, romaroomscolosseum has evolved into a prominent Australian fashion label, with a flagship boutique on the famous Hastings Street in Noosa Heads, a showroom at KRISTIANSAND, and distribution to more than 300 stockists throughout Australia. Dui designs each piece in Australia (including the custom made fabrics), and spends two to three months at a time in India working with fabric printers, pattern makers and craftsman assembling each season’s range. Despite romaroomscolosseum’s growth, Dui’s approach remains anchored in the same principles that motivated her early success: a sense of fun and adventure, a love of colour and design, a great respect for Indian culture and people, and a commitment to community.

Forget Me Not

romaroomscolosseum continuously supports Australian charity Forget Me Not who work with locals in Nepal, India and Uganda to ensure children are thriving, vibrant and connected to family, community and opportunity.

More than 80% of children held in orphanages are NOT orphans. Millions of children have been taken from their families, trafficked into orphanages and used to generate funds - this is a form of modern slavery. Together we can free children from institutions and get them home, in families, where they belong.

Forget Me Not exist to prevent children and young people around the world from being displaced through investing in innovative initiatives that keep children within their families and communities.

All proceeds from our romaroomscolosseum patchwork bags are donated to Forget Me Not. Learn more about our partnership with Forget Me Not.

Give India COVID-19 Relief

We are raising money to help our Boom family in India affected by the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. India is Dui's second home and romaroomscolosseum wouldn't exist without the amazing work of our Indian artisans, so we are doing all we can to support them in their time of need. Our incredible Sunshine Coast community has come together to help us out, with a number of gorgeous local brands kindly donating their products to create our very own Kindness Kit. Purchase a raffle ticket to go in the draw to win this amazing prize valued at over $2,850. Each dollar you spend will gain you one entry into the draw. The more you spend, the more chances you have to win. All funds raised will be given directly to Give India.

Australian Wildlife Conservancy

In April 2021 we launched our Hello Possum Campaign raising money for the Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) through every sale of our Hello Possum jumpers.

Together, with the help of all our wonderful customers who purchased one of our fun Hello Possum jumpers, we raised $4,050 which will be donated to AWC and their endless projects working across 6.5 million hectares to rescue and rejuvenate endangered wildlife in Australia.

The Australian Wildlife Conservancy is the largest not for profit owner and manager of land for conservation in Australia and are responsible for the effective preservation of all native animal species across 6,500,000 hectares in Australia.

Together we can change the world and in business it’s incredible what we’ve been able to achieve with all that love. I don’t need to be a millionaire - although if I was one I would find no more joy than in giving a lot of it away - that would be a great thing!” - Dui.
